Trans-Islam Project – Last Meeting
Trans-Islam Project’s last meeting, that brought together the seven researchers, members of the task team, took place at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, on October 28th - 29th.
The host of the event was Prof. Kyari Mohammed, Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Historian and member of Trans-Islam team. He warmly welcomed us in his University and made the VC’s conference room available for our workshop. The purpose of the meeting was an update on everyone’s work as well as a data sharing. Now that all the fieldworks have been conducted, the data collection is complete and the researchers can work together to ensure the overall consistency. Another objective was to discuss about the outcomes; how to enhance both individuals and the collectives works, which form of publication…
After these two days of stimulating and enriching discussions, the researchers were able to visit IDPs camps and meet the people in charge of their management. Thousands of refugees arrived in Yola over the last few months, resulting in an emergency situation.
The final report of Trans-Islam Project, now being prepared, will be out soon.
