Visit partners IMAGE 2On 8 October 2025, the new IFRA-Nigeria director, Dr. Pauline Guinard, and deputy-director, Dr. Delphine Manetta met with two of our Nigerian Alternative Heritages collaborators : the Oyo Cultural Centre and the National Museum of Unity, Ibadan.

First, the Oyo Cultural Centre team and FEF Coordinator Femi Olanrewaju introduced Dr Guinard to their work, including the large amount of paper archives to be digitized under the Nigerian Alternative Heritages project, made possible by the French Embassy Fund (FEF).

Next, the IFRA-Nigeria team along with FEF Coordinator Adéjkẹ́ Adétòrò visited the National Museum of Unity in Ibadan. This visit marked Dr Guinard's formal introduction to the museum, which is a partner in the FEF-financed Nigerian Alternative Heritages project.

They discussed some activities from the first year of the project, their impacts, and what to anticipate in the second year. The new director also received a brief tour of the museum, which included a stop at the table displaying some of the pottery items created by participants at the first project event in November 2024.

During the visit, some books, including original research by IFRA-Nigeria research fellows and sponsored publications, were donated to the museum. They were received by the museum's Curator, Mrs Oriyomi Pamela Otuka, and key staff members, including Mrs Christiana Alagbe, the project focal person at the museum, Mr Femi Leigh, Mr Abass Usman, Mr Olaolu and Mrs Ezomo Ajiwe, the museum librarian, who participated in receiving the donated books to the museum’s library.
