IFRA-Nigeria is looking for CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS WITH FILMING EXPERIENCE to conduct 2-3 days of work for an ESRC-funded project, “Hidden Narratives on Trans-National Organised Crime”.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and creative individual with a passion for filmmaking to be a part of an international collaborative research project, based across the Universities of Bristol, Ottawa and IFRA-Nigeria.

We are looking for a person to shoot some video footages in Lagos and/or Ibadan, which will be used as part of a short 4-5 minute film created as part of the research project. You may be an aspiring filmmaker or someone with skills in filmmaking and an interest in visual research methods who wishes to gain more experience and to be a part of an international collaboration. The successful candidate will be asked to undertake 2-3 days of filming in Lagos and/or Ibadan, and you will need to be available over 2-3 days in June/July in order to apply.

While you will be given detailed information on the kinds of video material required, we expect you to bring your own creative ideas and imagination as to how you interpret and respond to the brief given. We expect candidates to have experience and be competent in filming using a Sony A7III camera. We also expect someone who can demonstrate self-motivation and an ability to use their own initiative. Experience of sourcing and copying archive footage would be an advantage.

We expect approximately 2-3 days of filming (3 days max) and afterwards you will need to ensure the footage is appropriately labelled and uploaded to a DropBox folder (or similar). Editing will take place in the UK.

GRANT: 170 000 NGN. A hundred and seventy thousand naira grant (approximately) will be awarded and paid in two instalments. This will cover fees and all travel expenses.
