High-level research stay at the archaeology department of the University of Caen - Prof Adekola
At the beginning of 2022, Prof Adekola Kolawole, Department of Archaelogy, University of Ibadan, was hosted for one-month research stay at Craham, Center for Archaeological and Historical Research in Ancient and Medieval Times, University of Caen (UniCaen).
Indeed Prof. Adekola Kolawole had started academic exchanges with researchers from CRAHAM during participation in the archaeological project led by Prof. G. Chouin with CRAHAM since 2019 (Ile Ife Sungbo project). This exchange was made possible thanks to a high-level scholarship funded by IFRA-Nigeria and the French Embassy.
Here is a discussion video between Prof. Adekola Kolawole and Dr Cécile Chapelain de Séreville-Niel (CRAHAM, UniCaen) about their common work:
After this stay, there are further collaborations considered on both side to pursue the work already undertaken, including the resumption of the study of the archaeological population of the site of Benin city (Nigeria) dating from the 1970s.
