Museum of Unity rally in Ibadan
On 3 April, Ibadan came alive with music and dance as a vibrant parade made its way through the city — the National Museum of Unity's rally, offering a creative and engaging way to promote awareness of the museum’s activities. This celebration of culture was organized as part of IFRA-Nigeria's Alternative Heritages project, recipient of the French Embassy Fund (FEF). Scroll to see some pictures of this lively event!
The rally took off at the National Museum of Unity, and marched through the Aleshinloye Market, Jericho, Dugbe, 110-Iyaganku, Mobil-Ringroad to Challenge, looping back to the Museum. There were also stopovers at Aleshinloye market, Dugbe, Mobil-Ringroad, and Challenge. Among the 8-vehicule parade were the Museum curator Mrs. Oriyomi Otuka, Museum staff, including NYSC Corps members, ambassadors Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, and the IFRA-Nigeria's coordinator with the Museum.
The rally found a festive way of reaching an audience that may be unaware or have misconceptions about the Museum, while also bringing culture directly to the streets. With mascots, music and dancing, they didn't go unnoticed in Ibadan, and the event was reported in local media. See the video here.
