Based on their respective professional experience in France and the UK, Dr. Emilie Guitard and Clementine Chazal dealt with the presentation of an application (proofreading, references, email etiquette). The presenters subsequently discussed the best ways to structure academic CVs and showed the best practices to write cover letters. They devoted the last part of the workshop on the structure and best practices to follow to write a research statement, according to British and French universities.
The first workshop (in the morning) welcomed about 20 post-docs from diverse disciplines (within humanities and social sciences), whereas the second workshop in the afternoon was dedicated to Master and PhD holders. About 25 people attended this second workshop.
This workshop was made possible with the support of the Alliance Française in Enugu and the kind logistic help of its director, Dr. Olivier Mouginot.
This workshop is a first step twoard a long lasting collaboration between IFRA-Nigeria and UNN.
