 In the framework of the IAS/IFRA-Nigeria Field Report Seminar, we receive Mr. Anthony Agbegbedia. He is a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Ibadan and a post-graduate student in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Institute of African Studies. He is affiliated to the IFRA-Nigeria research fellowship and has publications on conflict resolution in the Niger-Delta.

The research work focused on the incessant conflicts between pastoralists and farmers in Benue state. The author examines the root causes of the conflict between the pastoralists and the farmers and the various methods adopted for managing conflict in Benue state. Having assessed the effects of these interventions, he goes on to propose other potentially more efficient mechanisms for managing the conflicts, including non-western, indigenoys mechanism s of conflict resolution.
