Event 'Cannabis Africana: Drugs and Development in Africa' (21 November / online)
On Monday 21 November, the Centre of Criminology at the University of Cape Town and the School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol will be holding two events in Cape Town and online, relating to the role and position of cannabis in the African context. These events are part of the "Cannabis Africana: Drugs and Development in Africa" that IFRA-Nigeria has been a partner of since its inception.

- Presentation of the research project "Cannabis Africana: Drugs and Development in Africa", that has thus far been conducted in four countries across the continent;
- Recent cannabis-related legislative and policy changes in various African countries, to review what lessons might be learnt from each.

13h00 to 16h00 (South Africa Standard Time)
Combinaison of lecture and conversation on methodological questions around studying topics such as illegal drugs. These include concerns around ethics, data collection, using sensitive information, and researcher and participant safety. This discussion will be useful to both students and colleagues from a range of disciplines.
