IFRA-NIGERIA & MOWAA earthwork conservation workshop

NIEEEEHOn the 17th and 18th of April 2024, IFRA-Nigeria in collaboration with the Edo Museum of West African Art (MOWAA) in the ongoing IFRA-Nigeria FSPI project organized a two-day workshop Earthwork Conservation. The theme of the workshop was Rebuilding Conservation Monitoring Capacity.

Participants attended the workshop from various community in Benin City where the Benin Moat still stand and. The communities were: Ugbowo, Iyaro and Oria. Other participants are from the MDA operating within Edo state which include the NCMM, the Ministries of Environment, Culture and Tourisms, Urban Planning, Lands and EDO GIS. In total attending were 40 participants at the workshop besides the facilitators. Among the facilitators who were physically present include Dr Segun Opadeji, Mr Oluwadamilare Omogbai and Joseph Ayodokun who is the IFRA-Nigeria FSPI project manager. The core deliberation at the workshop is how best to generate conservation concept that is peoples driven and homogenous and all inclusive.
