Between 5 and 6 October 2026, the Department of History and the Institute of African Studies of the University of Ibadan (UI), along with IFRA-Nigeria, organised an international conference on "Urban Myths and Experiences in Africa". Throughout the five sessions of this multidisciplinary conference on African urban studies, the speakers offered different perspetives on urban myths, to what extent they have shaped spaces, practices, and ways of life across African cities, and how they are produced, circulated, and experienced.
